Playdoh Garden is a hands-on, science-based early literacy program for children ages 3 to 5, grounded in the principles of the Orton-Gillingham approach—a structured, multisensory, and phonics-based method proven to support reading development. In each session, children use colorful playdoh to shape letters, build words, and explore sounds. These playful, tactile activities are designed to strengthen fine motor skills, letter recognition, and phonemic awareness, laying a strong foundation for reading success.

By combining sensory-rich play with research-backed strategies, Playdoh Garden helps children internalize letter-sound connections, develop vocabulary, and begin decoding simple words—all in a fun, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment

StoryTime Garden (ST) moves learners from listening to text and comprehending vocabulary, to independent reading of words and phrases. With StoryTime students are engaged in learning the first 50 sight words of the English language, as well as, key vocabulary words that relate to their daily lives. We Integrate fun songs, dances, and arts and crafts projects into each lesson offering children the chance to connect the learning experience with the brain and body.

Phonics Garden (PG) is a unique early reading and vocabulary program, adapted and written to increase children’s reading, vocabulary and comprehension. As children move through the program from level 1 (PH1) to Level 3 (PH3) they advance by learning basic skills with focused fundamental alphabet comprehension to reading more complex text with fluency. Each of our Phonics lessons include song, dance, vocabulary growth, homework review, comprehension practice and specific and systematic goal oriented learning objectives. Students will learn: phonological awareness, sound-spelling, maintenance blending, words within a sentence, rhyming units within words, beginning and ending sounds, syllables within words, and biological phoneme features: how the mouth, tongue, vocal cords, and teeth work together to produce sound. At Green Gardens Prep, we believe that intrinsic motivation is the foundation of meaningful, lasting learning. This means children are inspired to learn because they enjoy the process, feel curious, or take pride in mastering a new skill—not just for external rewards.

At the same time, we understand that children thrive with encouragement and clear goals. That’s why we also use extrinsic rewards through our Dollar Points system—a fun, classroom-based form of play money. Students can earn Dollar Points for positive behavior, effort, and achievement. They can then spend their play money in our Kids Shop, which features exciting real-world items like toys, books, puzzles, and more. This playful system helps children practice responsibility, goal setting, and delayed gratification—while staying motivated and engaged in their learning journey.

When students feel confident and connected to what they’re learning, they engage more deeply and develop a lifelong love of learning.

Academics In Motion:

Green Gardens Prep (GGP) is a state of the art child and adolescent to young adult cultural English learning center housed in purpose-designed classrooms. Our center's programs cater to individuals between the ages of 3.5 years and 12 years of age.

Originally founded by Mr. Jeffrey D Flowers in 2012, in Shanghai, China our centers have already trained over 1000 learners per year helping to secure top academic placements in some of the best international schools in China.

The majority of students enrolled at GGP come from top leading international schools or bilingual schools. A truly international environment, our students are young academic leaders coming from many different countries: China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, America, Canada, Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Belgium, South Korea, Philippines, Singapore, France, Netherlands, Holland, Germany, Jordan, Egypt and many more.
